Lead Testing
Older paint is common. Guessing about it is not necessary.
What lead testing involves
Lead-based paint was restricted for residential use in the United States in 1978, so buildings built before then may still have lead paint under later coatings. Intact paint in good condition is a different situation from paint that is chipping, being sanded, or being demolished.
S&J Environmental inspects the property, screens painted components on site with an XRF analyser where appropriate, and collects dust wipe or paint-chip samples for laboratory analysis. You get documented results instead of assumptions.

What we do on a lead project
Lead inspection
A review of painted components in the areas of concern, with findings documented by location.
XRF on-site testing
Handheld X-ray fluorescence screening of painted surfaces, which produces readings during the visit.
Lead dust sampling
Dust wipe samples collected from floors, sills and troughs and submitted for laboratory analysis.
Paint-chip sampling
Paint-chip samples taken from specific components where laboratory confirmation of concentration is needed.
